Conditions

Course Fees
Our fees do not include: bank charges, travel insurance, text books, pocket money, travel to and from school or airport transfer.

Payment  is payable in pounds sterling.

Bank charges to be paid at source otherwise the student will be charged on arrival.  School’s bank transfer fee is £6.

Cheques made payable to Summer School of English, must be drawn in sterling on an English Bank.

Bank transfers should be made directly to our account.
 
Deposit
A deposit of £50 is to be paid for students not requiring accommodation, this is taken off the final invoice.  A deposit of £100 is to be paid for students requiring accommodation, £50 of this is retained by the school in case of damage to accommodation.  This is returned at the end of the student’s stay.

Balance of fees is payable 28 days before the student arrives at the school.

Changes to the course programme
Course programme details are published in good faith and we reserve the right to make changes if necessary.

Accommodation
Accommodation with host families is only available to students aged 11 or over and is subject to availability.  Early booking is advisable.  Extra days are charged pro rata. 

All students should behave well as guests of the family and abide by their house rules.   Students are not allowed out unaccompanied in the evening unless we have signed permission from their parents or guardian (see registration form). Students are responsible for any damage or expenses that they cause at their accommodation.

Refunds and Cancellations
We reserve the right to retain the deposit for cancellations made less than 28 days before arrival.  In case of cancellations made on or after the date of arrival an additional sum will be retained at the discretion of the school. 

We recommend students take out insurance to cover fees and costs in case of cancellation or leaving early (see Insurance).

Liability
Summer School of English does not accept liability in the case of illness, accidental damage to personal effects or property.  We recommend that all students take out insurance.

Conduct
Good behaviour is essential during the whole stay.  Continual misbehaviour could result in expulsion of the student.  All expenses incurred must be paid by the parents or guardians.

Students will have to pay for any damage they cause to the school premises or at their accommodation.

Students wishing to take part in sport activities must wear appropriate clothing.

Tuition Hours
Morning classes begin at 9.30 am and finish at 12.40pm.  Afternoon classes begin at 1.30pm and finish at 3.40pm.
Each lesson is 55 minutes long.  In the morning there is a 20 minute break between the second and third hour.  In the afternoon there is a 20 minute break between the first and second hour.

Breaks
Students are not allowed outside the school during the morning or afternoon breaks.  Lunch time: students may leave the school for lunch if we have permission from the parent or guardian.

Attendance
Students must attend all classes.  If a student is ill or cannot come to school the parent or guardian must inform us as soon as possible. 

Mobile phones
Students must ensure that all mobile phones are switched off during classes.  Making or answering calls is not permitted during lessons.
